READY TO GO TO MY FIRST JUDO LESSON
READY TO GO WITH MY WHITE BELT AND GI, I AM VERY VERY EXCITED TO BE STARTING JUDO AND HAVING A HOBBY THAT I HAVE TO WORK HARD AND LEARN TECHNIQUES, MOVES, HISTORY AND WORDS IN JAPANESE
ONE OF MY INSTRUCTORS WAS ASKING ME QUESTIONS ABOUT MYSELF AND WHAT I CAN AND CAN'T DO AND WHAT I WILL BE ABLE TO DO WITH HELP, HE ALSO ASKED DO I MIND BEING HELPED IN SOME OF THE MOVES, WHICH I DON'T.
JUDO KICK THE MAIN INSTRUCTOR WAS PUTTING ME THROUGH MY PACES WORKING OUT HOW STRONG I AM AND WHAT I CAN DO ON MY OWN. I AM REALLY STRONG AND VERY CONFIDENT AND LIKE TO BE IN CONTROL
NO SPECIAL TREATMENT FOR ME, 5 PRESS UPS, I SAY NO SPECIAL TREATMENT MY INSTRUCTROR HAS HOLD OF MY BELT AND IS HELPING ME A LITTLE IN THE UPWARD LIFT
JUDO GRIPPING IS VERY IMPORTANT AND HERE MY INSTRUCTOR IS SHOWING ME HOW TO HOLD ONTO YOUR OPPONENTS GI
5 TIMES I HAD TO ROLL OVER AND SLAM MY HAND DOWN ON THE MATT EACH SIDE SO 10 TIMES IN TOTAL, TO BEGIN WITH MY DAD IS GOING TO BE MY BUDDY UNTIL I FEEL CONFIDENT AND THEN HE WILL HAVE TO SIT WITH MUM ON THE SIDE LINES WITH ALL THE OTHER PARENTS DRINKING TEA AND CHATTING AWAY WHILE US JUDO GREMLINS LEARN AND PRACTISE OUR JUDO
After my first Judo lesson, mum and dad asked me how did I like Judo and is it what I expected? I said NO, it was not what I expected but I loved it and was so pleased with myself for attempting and listening to my new instructors and I am so excited to be involved in a club that is pro-active and treats me the same as everyone else, there is no special treatment and I will bow in and bow out and learn all the moves, every six months I will be graded under the BJA association rules and regulations.
The club that I have joined is outstanding, I am so proud to welcomed and part of the WESTERLEIGH JUDOKWAI and look forward to many years of learning and teaching from them.
