My Amazing Oscar

This is a dedication of acheivement for my amazing son Oscar who despite his profound disabilities lives life to the full. I wanted to share the magical and inspiring attitude of my young man, who has shown no matter what any profession or person tells you that you probably won't be able to take part or be included in regular hobbies and daily activites that we all take for granted, you have to try it for yourself and make your own decision. The proof here is that so far Oscar has not found many that he truly could not take part in , in some way or another, for example riding the Pirates of the Carribean ride at Walt Disney World Orlando, alligator seeing in the everglades, taking up Judo, swimming with dolphins, riding the quad bike up the stables and being one of 14,231 pirates who reclaimed the Guniess World Record in 2012.

JUDO LESSON MUNE-GATAME AND KAMI-SHIHO-GATAME

It is important to do all the warm up exercises, lots of leg exercises and arm warm ups, this is so I am ready to throw and get thrown in my lesson.

I am the uke and my tori buddy is applying Mune-gatame on me.

Here I am trying to stop my uke from escaping from Kami-shiho-gatame.  I kept rolling uke over until I had gained a hold down on uke myself.

Tori tried a pull to surprise me by rocking one way to then quickly switch direction and make me roll over on my side so that my tori could gain a hold down, but I was already ahead of tori's move and I did not yield to tori's reaction, my instructor was very pleased I held my stance.

Was a fabulous lesson today My instructor had two other uke's and tori's come and try to surprise me with moves that I had been learning, they were very good and knowledgeable.  My best friend learnt some new moves too, he was learning Osoto-otoshi to Kesa-gatame and he was very good at being both the Tori and the Uke, a Tori is the person doing the attack and the Uke is the person being attacked.
