FALMOUTH SEA SHANTY SHOUT

 

 

This is such a great 3 day venue, where 40 or so sea shanty groups come and sing, they go from pub to pub and sing their shanties, also there is a stage now in event square for the groups to sing from.

 

I meet Gully and all the guys from Fisherman's Friends there some several years ago and then again in his home village of port Issac, where I was very lucky because he and the group, who were only in their local pub said they would sing "In South Australia I was Born" for me and then they sung a few more shanties for the rest of the customers, this was my best day.

 

Gully said he would sing for me when ever I saw him, and I believe him!  I made up some fun wanted posters of myself and mum and dad went and pasted them up around Cornwall for a bit of fun and Gully signed mine for me.

BETTY SOGGS



This is Jeff, he is a local celebratory, he is dressed here as Betty Soggs and he raises lots of money for the RNLI during this event and is very entertaining.  He was a professional wrestler and now is a local farmer and he spent a lot of time with us.

 

 

Here is where I pasted my wanted poster to the fully operational back door of Custom House on Custom House Quay in Falmouth Harbour !!!  Arrrgh Pirate !!!

JUDO LESSON ON JAPANESE 2nd MON THEORY

 

Oscar practising his 2nd mon theory in Japanese with instructor getting ready for his grading in 2 weeks time.  Oscar will have to demonstrate two of his favourite techniques, know the English translations for all the Japanese terminology used in 2nd mon section and know the meanings to:

 

Osae-Komi = Holding

Toketa = Hold broken

 

Oscar will also need to answer the questions:

A: Jigoro Kano founded judo

Oscar had worked really hard with lots of questions to answer and felt it was time for a well deserved siesta.

Fabulous walk through the bluebell woods with my two dogs, they really love walking through the woods and I do to, we go over some rickety old bridges, and over lots of bumpy broken branches that make me jiggle and wiggle all over the place in my wheelchair, there is nowhere I won't go!

JUDO LESSON

Judo lesson and my fabulous uke friends

 

 

Here mu uke is grabbing my Gi collars and roughing be left and right and then my daddy is rocking me back and forth, this is so that I get the feeling of being grabbed and pulled around as I have not been to Judo for 6 weeks so I need to remind myself how it feels to be grabbed and rolled over so that I am ready and feel in control.

 

 

I have missed my fabulous instructor and here she is giving me lots of information because my next grading in in 3 weeks time and I want to take my next grading.  So lots of practice at home with my daddy and best friend over the next few weeks.

BONJOUR MY DAY TRIP TO FRANCE

 

 

My first time on the shuttle and going to France, I loved France and the way the French talk, I was really pleased to be called Monsieur Oscar, we went to the French supermarket and daddy was our French translator, we brought lots of gorgeous cheeses and meats and daddy stocked up on his mint cordial, yuk I think it tastes like my mouthwash !!!

 

I had a great day out, and really enjoyed my first trip to France, I was especially pleased as last year in school when we were learning all about France, we had a French day and I was dressed up in my French onions and beret and it was my job to greet all our guest with a Bonjour, ca va.
