COWBOY FOR A DAY AT SCHOOL

 

 

Ye har, ya'll come back again I loved dressing up as a cowboy for school.

 

I got to show off my cowboy outfit and walk the cat walk and be papped by photographers all in aid of raising funds for the Evelina children's school hospital.  My cowboy hat I had brought in America at a real cowboy shin dig with cowboys and cowgirls and my sheriff badge I got that in Walt Disney World in the Frontier wilderness, the chaps on my legs are my mum's old riding chaps and the rest is my daily wear.  Our class did really well and all of us were the best dressed cowboys. 

CHILDREN IN NEED DAY

 

This is my outfit for school for Children in Need, I got my mum to sew on colourful circles all over my clothes so that I could enter the fancy dress competition.  School had a full day of activities and raffles, I did not win a raffle prize but I did get to throw wet sponges at my teachers in the playground to help raise money, I won a prize for one of the best costumes celebrating Children in Need, I also brought lots of cakes to take home for my daddy.

MY PIRATE BIRTHDAY CAKE 11YRS OLD

Wahoo my Birthday Pirate Cake

 



 

All edible, my pirate birthday cake.  Just a double chocolate moist sponge cake with butter icing and lots of regal fondant icing for the decoration and art work.

 

Ingredintets

10 eggs
20oz caster sugar
20oz stork
18oz self raising flour
2oz chocolate powder
4oz grated 70% chocolate

FOR THE ICING DECORATIONS
4 kg regal white icing
3 x 250g pale blue regal icing
1 x 250g black regal icing
2 x 250g red regal icing
1 x 250g purple regal icing
1 pot gold edible paint
1 pot brown edible paint
1 pot white edible paint
1 pot black edible paint

To make the cakes you will need two tins, one approx 10" and one 6" in diameter.  I make the cake batter in two batches, the first I make for the 6" tin and I use 8oz of sugar, stork, flour and 4 eggs.  The rest of the ingredients are for the 10" tin.

FOR THE CAKE BATTER
Beat the sugar with the stork until light and creamy, beat in one egg at a time, I like to add a tablespoon of flour with each egg to stop any curdling.  Once all the eggs have been incorporated beat for a couple of minutes, then gently fold in the flour until you have a smooth batter. 

Place the batter in a lined cake tin and bake in a pre-heated oven 180 degrees for approx 45 minutes or until firm and springy and a skewer comes out clean.

Turn out on a wire rack to cool completely.  I like to level the cake top and then turn the cake upside down so that you have a perfect flat surface ready to ice.

For the icing, the 10" cake will need 2kg of regal icing, and the 6" cake will need 1kg icing.  Paint the top and sides of the cake with some fondant icing or some warmed jam to help the icing stick.  Roll out the icing nice and thick and place over the cake and smooth out the sides, trim off the excess.

FOR THE FUN ICING
Here just get stuck in and play, I like to score the icing to help make more of a textured effect on the waves, the skull is make from a 1kg block or regal icing and then I painted the skull with the edible paints.  In all treat the icing like playdo, you can re-mould and start again, the main aim is to enjoy making the cake and themed parts.

IT IS ALL IN THE DETAILS
That is the secret to the look of the cake, all people see is the finishing touches, they don't see the cake just the themed theatrics, so any extra gems, gold coins, pearl necklaces make the cake even more fun.

Arrgh the treasure hunt, Captain Jack Sparrow searching with his crew for all the clues around the  ship to find the hidden treasure...

 

Arrgh keep looking me scallywags there has to be a clue in the pirate cannon...

 

 

The final clue, all the clues are in and the pieces of the map are complete, Captain Jack Sparrow knew how to find the final secret clue on the back of the pieces, you need to turn over all the pieces of the map that you have all collected and then find the secret hidden clue on the back!  Now there is a puzzle that will need solving once you can place all the pieces of the map together you can then find the final clue of the treasure hunt and it will lead Captain Jack and his crew to the final place of the hidden Aztec gold of Cortez...

In all OMG!!!!!!! the best ever pirate party, Oscar has ever ever had, so overwhelmed that Melo, Captain Jack Sparrow came and has given our son the very best ever true Pirate party, Captain Jack was soooooo much himself that we could not see anyone else, our son and his friends and us grown ups, had the most fantastic true adventure and are in awe of Captain Jack Sparrow.  We as Ladies are also in awe as wow!!! Captain Jack is truly amazing and was very entertaining for us grown ups as well, and a bit Yummy too!!!

 

 

Pirate Games we made by coffee staining printed paper, tearing the sides and then wax sealing with Oscar's pirate seal and some ribbon to seal the game.

 

 

 



 

The best ever pirate party.

MY 1st JUDO COMPETITON AS A SPECTATOR FABULOUS TIME

 

My first experience at a Judoka competition, I loved it lots of shouting and encouragement from all the parents and instructors, full of passion and atmosphere.  I was really pleased being part of my club supporting my team mates in their competitions, as a club we did really really well Ya!!!

 

There I am in prime position  to watch some of my Judo mate's on Mat One in the competition.

 



Here, I was surprised to be Awarded a Trophy for my taking part in Judoka in any way I can and giving my very best and doing what I can and making a difference, with the very best thanks to my instructors and club Westerleigh, without them I would not have the freedom to take part in this sport and to full fill my passion for judo.  This club is so amazing and I am so very very lucky.

Run daddy Run...

 

 

Daddy running for me, I had to practise running at my uke who was tucked into a ball, I had to knock my uke over onto their back and then choose and execute a hold, I choose Kesa-gatame

Here my instructor is lowering his weight on top of me to teach me how it feels and then I can react in this situation and push up against my uke.

 

 

YIPEE WOW !  I was awarded the Etiquette Trophy for my hard work and always trying my best in Judo.  I love my lessons and really enjoy all the hard work that my club puts in to help me be able to take part in Judoka.

My club Westerleigh Judoka The No1 club winner are so amazing, they support me and other kids who have some challenges and give us all the support to allow us to take part in a sport that we want to do without our walking frames or wheelchairs.  All the other judo members are also so great we all train together and get to practise our judo moves and escapes thanks to the ethos of the club.
